Open auditions for adults (10th grade and older) for The Wizard of Oz by Lincoln Community Theatre

Lincoln Community Theatre is holding auditions for The Wizard of Oz, the second show of LCT’s 2022 season, at St. John United Church of Christ in Lincoln.

Those auditioning will be asked to sing a song of their choice, read from the script, and learn a short piece of choreography.

The Wizard of Oz> is the musical based on the classic 1939 film that has enchanted generations of children and adults. Performers of all ages are sought to bring the characters to life.

Auditions for The Wizard of Oz will be held Friday, April 8 from 5 PM to 8 PM and Saturday, April 9 from 10 AM to 4 PM. The audition time on Saturday from 10 AM to 1 PM is being set aside for youth performers (those entering 3rd through 9th grade in the Fall 2022 school year).

Those chosen for the cast will be expected to attend rehearsals, which begin Monday, June 13 and run mostly Mondays through Thursdays until tech week (the week before the show). The show has four performances and runs Thursday, July 28 through Sunday, July 31. It is directed by John David Pickett.

In addition to auditions for The Wizard of Oz, LCT will hold auditions for the comedy You Can’t Take it With You Sunday, April 10 from 1 PM to 4 PM. Click here for information about those auditions.
