Kids art series Painting in Motion at Lincoln Arts Institute

This 4-week series of classes introduces students to different methods of painting utilizing motion in some format.

• Week 1 – Pendulum Painting (March 7)
  Suspend Dixie cups by string from a wooden dowel. Poke hole in bottom cup and sides to hang, Plain paper, water, paper towels, tempera paints (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, white, black), aprons Students will study elliptical patterns by swinging paint-filled pendulums to create art! As the pendulum swings, the paint allows the class to follow patterns created.
• Week 2 – Splatter Paint (March 14)
  Flick, swish and swash your way to a work of art in this energetic class! Students practice the classic method of splatter painting, a la Jackson Pollock
• Week 3 – Paint Pour (March 21)
  Student will fill cups with tempera paint, then pour on their canvas to create a flowing color piece of art. Different pour methods yield different color designs that students will be able
• Week 4 – Free Art Zone (March 28)
  Do whatever the heck you want to do! Free art period. Students will be supplied with a multitude of arts and crafts supplies, then left to their own imagination to create masterpieces!
