Juneteenth Festival at Scully Park in Lincoln

The Hunt for Foundation host the 4th Annual Juneteenth Festival of Lincoln, Illinois.
Juneteenth is also known as “Black Independence Day” or “Freedom Day” and is now recognized as a federal holiday. Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the emancipation of slavery. This year’s theme is “Taking it Back to Our Roots, Block Party Style!” Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of slavery. Various backgrounds unite to promote equality, social justice and create opportunities of inclusiveness. This event offers family friendly live entertainment, activities and resources including 80-foot obstacle course, mobile gaming lounge, youth talent show, arts and crafts, and many giveaways. The festival is comprised of local vendors and vendors from across the nation promoting their products and services. It’s a community cookout, so attendees may bring grills, tents, umbrellas and water.
