FosteringGrace is hosting an informational meeting about the basics of becoming a foster parent.
The meeting is for adults (single or married) interested in becoming a foster parent. Candidates must be able to pass a federal background check to be considered.
Due to the amount of information being covered, the event will be split into two sessions. Material covered will be:
Session A
⁃ Where to start?
⁃ What’s required?
⁃ What do they look for to consider you becoming a foster parent?
⁃ Home Inspection
⁃ Firearms
⁃ Pets
⁃ Different types of case workers
⁃ What age child will be the best fit in your home?
⁃ What do the kids call you?
⁃ THE Phone call & questions to ask
⁃ How do the kids get to you?
⁃ ER/Doctor/Dentist
⁃ Vouchers/Monthly Stipend
⁃ Daycare/Babysitting
⁃ Schooling/Vacation
(5 minute break between sessions.)

⁃ How the Court process works
⁃ What the Courtroom looks like
⁃ Weekly & Monthly Visitation
⁃ Sending a child back into the system
⁃ Sending a child back home
⁃ Respite Care
⁃ Adoption
⁃ What if Adoption isn’t an Option?
