DockDogs at Balloons Over 66 Weekend in Downtown Lincoln

Join the Dock Dogs for a weekend of fun. DockDogs is designed to create a nationally recognized competitive sport based on rules and precedents in track and field competitions. There are Big Air Dog competitions with national standards and objective measures that allow people to train competitively as well as open competitions allowing “anyone with a dog and toy” to participate.
DockDogs is an organization about having fun and celebrates every improvement with our competitors, staff, sponsors, and spectators.
DockDogs consists of 3 different sporting disciplines:
- Big Air – the first sport of DockDogs® and the most popular, this is the Long Jump of canine aquatics
- Extreme Vertical – introduced in 2005 it is considered the High Jump of canine aquatics
- Speed Retrieve – launched in 2008 this is a timed sport involving the combination of run, jump, swim and retrieve

Competitions take place at various times during the Balloons Over 66 Weekend. Scheduled dates and times are:
Friday 8/25
Onsite Registration/Practice – Noon
Big Air Wave #1 – 1 PM
Big Air Wave #2 – 3 PM
Big Air Wave #3 – 5 PM
Extreme Vertical Competition – 7 PM
Saturday 8/26
Onsite Registration/Practice – 10 AM
Big Air Wave #4 – 11 AM
Big Air Wave #5 – 1 PM
Big Air Wave #6 – 3 PM
Speed Retrieve (All in one Finals) – 5 PM
Big Air Finals – 7 PM (Pro, Semi Pro, Contender & Amateur Finals)
The DockDogs events take place during The Balloons Over 66 festival, which features an art fair, barbecue contest, vendor fair, the Dock Dogs, and much more…including, of course, hot air balloons!
