WLCN 96.3 FM has partnered with Lincoln/Logan County Crime Stoppers and ME Realty to air a Crime of the Week segment profiling open cases for which law enforcement seeks assistance from the public.
WLCN airs the Crime of the Week segments throughout its broadcast day seven days a week. Plans are for a new case to be profiled in segments debuting each Tuesday afternoon on The 4 PM 411, a public affairs show hosted by WLCN marketing manager Loyd Kirby.
The first segment aired December 17 and featured a crime involving the theft of copper downspouts from Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.
In addition to radio coverage, the Crime of the Week segments will be utilized in a few other ways:
- The will be repurposed into video form and will air during WLCN videostreams of programs and events such as Viewpoint with Dara Entwistle, the Cheap Seats Saturday Morning Sports Show, LCHS athletics and more
- The video version of each segment also will be archived individually on WLCN’s YouTube page
- The YouTube videos will be posted on social media each week
- Information about the segments will be posted in this page of the WLCN web site
- Segments will be highlighted in the station’s free email newsletter distributed weekly, THE 96.3 411.
The Lincoln/Logan County Crime Stoppers program allows individuals to remain anonymous in reporting information relevant to a crime. Individuals providing information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) involved in a crime may receive a cash reward of up to $1,000.
