Groovin’ & Movin’ west coast swing dance and lindy dance workshop with Laynee Day at Lincoln Park District

This workshop event features guest instructor Laynee Day from Nashville as she holds sessions on west coast swing dancing and a course for beginners on the Lindy Hop. The evening concludes with a social dance event.

Schedule of events:

• 2:30 PM – Doors open
• 3 PM – Get in the groove
• 4 PM – Heads up
• 5 PM – Dinner break/warm up/practice
• 6:15 PM – Doors open (social dance and/or lesson)
• 6:30 PM – Beginner Lindy Hop lesson
• 7:15 PM to 10 PM – Social dance of ballroom, latin and swing music

Cost:

• $20 per workshop (3 PM and 4 PM)
• $10 – Dinner
• $10 – Beginners lesson and/or social dance
• $40 for full dance (workshops, dinner, lesson and social dance)

  Tickets can be purchased online or at the door.

  The west coast swing workshop is not a beginner lesson; attendees should know the basics of west coast swing dancing in sugar push, sugar tuck, left side pass and right side pass.
