The Olympia Spartan football team is back in the playoffs, and WLCN will bring our audience all the action as Oly faces Monticello on October 31 at 1 PM in the IHSA Class 3A playoffs.
WLCN typically provides both radio/audio coverage of athletic events as well as livestream video coverage. However, due to Monticello being an affiliate of the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS), WLCN is prohibited from showing live video of action taking place in the game as it is happening. We will have a feed available on our YouTube channel during the game; it will show a scoreboard as well as information about sponsors. During the game, we will cut in with live images of the crowd, cheerleaders, and other visuals during breaks in the action and timeouts.
In addition, WLCN will provide full audio coverage on the air at 96.3 FM from our transmitter in rural Atlanta as well as via the Mixlr app for smartphones and tablets.
To access either the audio or YouTube stream, simply go to the WLCNOnline.com home page and click the Watch live or Listen live badge in the righthand column on the page.
For those planning to attend the game, please be advised that admission to the game at Monticello High School is cash only and costs $8 per person (exception for infants carried into the stadium by a parent or guardian). Stadium gates are scheduled to open at 11:45 AM; no spectators will be allowed in before that time.
The most convenient parking for visiting fans is behind the visiting bleachers, along Hamilton Street or Kratz Road. The visiting bleachers are located on the east side of the football complex. Additional parking is available south of the football complex, accessible from Kratz Road. There are designated accessible parking spots available off the service drive north of the home bleachers.
Concessions will be available in the Monticello High School cafeteria, located just north of the home bleachers. There will be a pork chop tailgate for all fans starting at 11:45 AM outside the entrance to the high school cafeteria.
