Workshop by U of I Extension Service on pruning old/neglected apple trees at PrairiErth Farm in rural Atlanta

This event is presented by the U of I Extension Office of Livingston, McLean & Woodford Counties and will be a combination of classroom-style learning and field demonstrations, with potential audience assistance available and ample time for Q&A along the way. NOTE: Audience participation with power tools will NOT be possible.

Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather. If available, participants should bring pole saws. NOTE: This year’s pruning class will be less hands-on than in years past, with a greater focus on learning how to rehabilitate old, neglected trees on your own property using your own tools at your own pace.

The principles learned in this class should apply to old apple, pear, peach, cherry, and cherry trees, and may have some application to other fruit trees as well.
