LCHS alum Aaron Fricke to be hired as head Railer football coach for 2026

Pending approval by the Lincoln Community High School school board, Lincoln native Aaron Fricke is set to become the Railer football coach for the 2026-27 season.

In the December 2025 LCHS Board of Education agenda for its Monday, December 16 meeting under “Consent Agenda Items,” Item II-H of the agenda lists “Approve Aaron Fricke as a Physical Education Teacher and Head Football Coach for the 2026-2027 School Year.”

Fricke, a 2006 LCHS graduate, was the Warrenburg-Latham head football coach since 2018. He compiled a 35-37 overall record during his eight seasons at the helm, taking the Cardinals to the Class 2A quarterfinals in the IHSA playoffs in 2018 and 2024.

Prior to coaching at Warrensburg-Latham, Fricke served as head coach at Southwestern High School (2013-17) and as an assistant coach at Clinton High School (2012-13) and McKendree University (2011-12). He played for McKendree from 2006-2010.

During his time at Lincoln Community High School, Fricke earned academic all-conference honors and was a US Army National Scholar.
