September 14, 2021 @ 9:00 am - 7:00 pm CDT

Free

This detailed replica of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is one half of the size of the original tomb located in Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va. This is a replica of the most hallowed ground in America which holds the remains of the unknown soldiers from World War I, World War II, Korean War and the now-empty crypt of the Vietnam War.

The replica is owned and managed by the Americanism Committee of the Exchange Club of Rome, Ga. It was constructed by Phillip Burkhalter Builders of Georgia. The replica is made of pine, composite materials, carbon-fiber sheets for added strength, aluminum framing and retractable wheels. The artwork was carved with a Dremel and was painted to resemble the marble of the original tomb. This artwork of sculpturing the three wreaths and lettering on both sides of the tomb are the Greek figurines of Peace, Valor, and Victory and was completed by artist Chuck Schmult of Georgia.

November 11, 2021 will be the 100th anniversary of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
