Subset of the Observable exhibit of the works of John Cassidy
September 17, 2021 @ 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM CDT
FreeThe Lincoln Arts Institute presents an exhibition of works from the art estate of John Cassidy. The show features paintings and pastels on paper and canvas from the estate of Cassidy, curated by Matt Erickson, owner of cometogetherspace in Bloomington. The show at the Lincoln Arts Institute will be open for viewing on Fridays through October 8 from 5 PM to 8 PM. Admission is free.
Cassidy was born in Peoria, July 8, 1964 and passed away February 17, 2017. “He was the definition of the Bohemian Artist,” Erickson said. “He worked in a wide variety of two-dimensional media which became drawings and paintings of still lives, portraits, abstractions, and Landstractions- or what I call ‘views of John’s World.'”
Cassidy held bachelor’s and master’s degrees in English from Bradley University. Many of his works and titles are literary driven.
