Sugar Grove Nature Center offers this Funks Grove Maple Sirup educational experience for homeschooling families. The program provides a special opportunity for students to actively engage in the production of maple sirup as they explore its history from pre-settlement to current day through demonstrations and hands-on activities. Every student will have the opportunity to tap a sugar maple tree and take home a small bottle of Funks Grove Pure Maple Sirup.
Due to the seasonality of this topic, there are a limited number of days available to offer this program. The program begins promptly at 10 AM and ends at 2 PM. A limited number of spaces are available; registration is done on a first-come, first-served basis and must be completed by February 15; confirmation and additional details after registration is completed when fees are received.
Cost is $9 per student (ages 3 and up) and $7 per adult. Participants are expected to participate in the entire program. Those who wish to attend the program on the same day as another family must coordinate this themselves.
Refunds are given only if the program is cancelled.
Masking protocols current at the time of the program must be followed by all staff, volunteers and program participants for the duration of the program.
This is not a drop-off program. A registered adult is required to stay with the children.
Attendees should bring their own lunch.
